In the Scripture, John the Baptist was a man of utmost importance. He cried out to the people of Israel to repent, and he prepared the way for the ministry of salvation that Jesus would accomplish. We must remember exactly what relationship there is between the work of Jesus and the work of John the Baptist. Jesus, who came to this world and saved mankind, obeyed the will of God together with John the Baptist, and John the Baptist and Jesus accomplished the righteous work of God in this world.
