The word of today’s passage, Malachi 4:1–6, was delivered through Malachi, one of the several prophets God sent when the people of Israel had returned from their captivity in Babylon. The Book of Malachi records the events that will happen in the last day. Along with the promise of hope that those who have received the remission of sin by fearing God will leap for joy like calves let out of the stall, God said this: “Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD. And he will turn The hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse” (Malachi 4:5–6).
