Christians today confess that they believe in Jesus as their Savior, yet many of them do not know that Jesus is the Lord who saved us from all sins with the gospel of the water and the Spirit. Since everyone is born a sinner, everyone must believe in the gospel of the water and the Spirit to be washed of those sins. In other words, we must believe in this gospel to be born again, and only when we so believe can we meet the Lord. Whether or not we can receive the remission of sin and be born again depends on whether or not we rightly know and believe in Jesus Christ.
