Mark 1:2 says this: “Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, Who will prepare Your way before You.” Beloved people of God, only when you lay aside your preconceptions and follow the Scripture as the word of God leads can you discover the righteousness of God. Therefore, when you read the word, you must read it laying aside your own thoughts and the lusts of the flesh. Only then can you understand and believe the will God intends to fulfill. The same principle applies to today’s Scripture passage. Only when you put down the thoughts of the flesh and follow as the word of God leads can you rightly understand the ministry of John the Baptist and the ministry of Jesus.
